Words alone cannot express our gratitude for everyone at your company… but we’ll try!

Not only did you go above and beyond to make our wedding reception a HIT but you also made us feel like family. We appreciate the attention to detail sought after in not only planning our reception but also in getting to know us. We can say with confidence you would be able to answer just about any question pertaining to us as a couple.

Every wish that we made was granted… from the gobo monogram, to the photo booth picture template, to the songs requested, to the videography outline! Not one wish or idea was turned down. It truly made us feel very special.

Each reception detail that you were a part of was complimented on by ALL of our guests. They were WOWED by the lights, the clouds during our first dance, the way Jorge got everyone involved, and the way the DJ kept everyone dancing all night… even our aurnt who is a nun! Most of our guests traveled over 8 hours or out of state to be at our wedding and eery single one of them said that the reception was beyond worth it!

The memories we madw with our guests will never be forgotten and all you at J&M are to thank for that!

2012′s hot trend in Los Angeles for wedding receptions is uplighting. Notice the difference between boring basic venue lighting and LED uplighting. If your centerpieces are really important to you then be sure to add pin spots to your lighting package. The picture below shows a room completely lit by venue lighting, below that is the uplighting. Notice that when you uplight a room your centerpieces disappear because it gets dark in the center of the room. The last picture shows the impact of pin spots.

A bride looking to make her wedding beautiful and colorful may want to consider décor lighting.  The different types of décor lighting are texture patterns, pin spot lighting, custom gobo’s (monograms), and up lighting. Below are some lighting tips & ideas to help you get ideas for your wedding reception.

Texture Patterns:

This lighting is used to add personality to your reception.  You can choose from a wide variety of patterns to match your theme.

Pin Spot Lighting:

If your centerpieces are important to you then they should stand out! When you darken a room to accent the walls with uplighting, remember that the center of the room becomes dark. This now leaves your centerpieces on a dark table. Votives are great but they don’t light up the top of your centerpieces.

Custom Gobos (Monogram)

Another great idea on how to add that personalized touch to your wedding reception lighting is to use a custom gobo. You can create a custom design with your name, initials or a specific image that promotes your personality or theme.

Uplighting

This is by far my favorite type of lighting. This type of lighting is best way to completely transform your room. These lights offer the flexibility of starting as beautiful décor lighting… then transition to fun dance lights to keep up with the flow & energy of your event. They also are available as battery powered lights to help with a venue that doesn’t have much power, or for outdoor weddings.  They come in a wide variety of colors to coincide with your wedding theme.

Five years ago Michelle & Joshua met on Facebook so they wanted to do something that made their wedding uniquely them. After they cut their wedding cupcake they made their marriage “OFFICIAL” by having a Facebook ceremony. On the big screen in front of all their closest friends and family they changed their Facebook status from “Engaged” to “Married”.

Michelle & Joshua donned their red Converse for the reception and Michelle recaptured her youth by dancing on her daddy’s toes during the father/daughter dance. It’s amazing every weekend to be a part of and create some of the most unique weddings of the year. We can’t wait to see Joshua & Michelle’s Facebook status updates as they enjoy their two week honeymoon on a Caribbean cruise.
