On Sunday May 4th The Lancaster Museum of Art & History (MOAH) had their big grand opening. You could hear the buzz and excitement of all the guests at this event from blocks away. City Manager Mark Bozigian said ” MOAH provides an exciting new cultural and educational hub for the entire Antelope Valley… This is a world class additon to our community.”

Nights like this remind us of why we love what we do. We were able to make this grand opening shine even brighter than it already does in the community except through lighting effects.

We are proud to help Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley raise over $20,000 for the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita. Soroptimist International is an international organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities throughout the world. Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley has contributed nearly one million dollars to local agencies and international programs aimed at improving the lives of women and girls.

In 2012, the organization created a fun way to raise money: the “Gentlemen for a Cause” Fundraiser. Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley wanted to give back to its generous donors by thinking about what women really want: not just a handsome guy, but a kind gentleman who will help them with whatever they need. Do you need someone to go shopping with you? Then let Gentlemen for a Cause give you a guy who will pay for your shopping, tell you what looks nice on you, and carry all of your bags. Do you need a handyman around the house? Then let the event give you a man who will fix anything you need for the entire day. Do you want to get in better shape? Bid on the personal trainer who will help you get toned for summer.  

Our talented Host MC and Auctioneer Jorge Lopez had a blast at this fundraising event getting the crowd out of their chairs and battling for their favorite gentleman. The whole night, event-goers were laughing and having fun as they donated to the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita. Suzanne Stone said, “Jorge Lopez was the best! He completely made this event a huge success. Because of J&M Entertainment we were able to raise more money than we expected. Thank you for all your hard work!” This is an event you will not want to miss in the future. Be sure to get your tickets for next year’s show. You will laugh all night and help raise money for a good cause.

Here we are assembling the truss structure that will hold the human chandelier, as well as the parcans for lighting on the aerial artist.

Another big hit was the lighting for this event. We used parcans with white or soft gels to wash the presentation of the buffet tables, and up lighting in 4 rooms at the Pasadena Convention Center

We used a leko with a pattened lens to throw 50′ across the room to create a 10′ circumference pattern on the walls and floor. We projected two WTUI custom gobos, one at the base of the stairs at the entrance, and another in full color on the bar wall.
